With this collection, we’re invited to view the rat race called life through the LF lens, a perspective where endurance is celebrated and joyfully expressed through color, movement, and cultural roots.

Every piece is designed to capture the spirit of sportsmanship we feel in our daily lives: the constant drive, the ambition, and the focus. Bold prints and intricate hand-crafted embellishments bring to life the colors and energy of competition, with the familiar Nigerian game Ayo woven in as a key motif -an emblem of home and tradition within the modern landscape of life as sport. Familiar but unfamiliar stripes playfully mimicking racetracks. But just like the swish and sway of the fringe detailing, life is a dance… a journey that balances purpose with play.
Through “The Starting Line,” Lisa Folawiyo invites us to see the race differently. Life is challenging, yes, but it’s also beautiful, colorful, and meant to be enjoyed.

It was an exciting challenge! We worked with new, more complex embellishment techniques, which weren’t easy, but the results were worth it. Despite the pressure leading up to the show, seeing our work come to life on the runway made me very proud
